Program Choices

Fun Factory - half day or longer
These non-competitive games require a good attitude, the ability to smile from ear to ear and possibly a funny hat. There are hundreds, nay thousands, of games.

Team Play - half day or longer
This is a morale and camaraderie building program. We will develop a program specifically for your group that integrates games, trust activities, initiatives, and low elements.

The Full Challenge - full day
Explore the full range of challenge activities - develop your team or group in the morning with games and initiatives and then test your personal comfort zones with an exhilarating afternoon of high-flying fun on the high course.

High Octane - half day or longer
Warm up and focus the group with low element activities and then head quickly into getting some air under your feet utilizing the high challenge elements. The time required will depend on the number of participants and the desired number of elements.

Our Course

Safety is our number one concern. Our course installation meets the standards set forth by the Association of Challenge Course Technology. We aggressively maintain our course through regular in-house inspections and an annual external inspection by industry professionals to insure safety of all elements.

Below are the activities and structural elements we use in the delivery of our programs.

Low Challenge Course

The low challenge course features activities occurring close to the ground (below 15ft.)

Games - Play is good for your soul. Our games get participants relaxed and warmed up for working together.

Trust activities are gradually sequenced to encourage participants to learn to trust one another as well as themselves.

Group initiatives are activities (physical and/or mental) in which the whole group must work together in order to achieve a goal. Group process is explored to develop deeper understanding of team dynamics.

Boy on tension TraverseLow Elements are activities utilizing structural elements which build on the safety systems of the trust activities and the problem solving of the initiatives. These include:

  • Seagull Swing/Nitro Crossing
  • Spider Web
  • Tension Traverse
  • Bridge Is Out
  • Up and Over Wall

High Challenge Elements

These activities are primarily individual challenges aided by group support, which take place 20 - 40 feet above the ground in our California native Ponderosa Pine and Live Oak trees. Our emphasis is on supporting participants in finding personal comfort zones and making choices about moving beyond those zones. High Challenge Elements include:

  • Cat Walk
  • Burma Bridge
  • Climbing Wall
  • "Zip-id-ee-doo-daaa" Zip Line
  • Leap of Faith

Challenge By Choice

Participants are never coerced or pressured into moving out of personal comfort zones -- the choice is always yours and you are supported in those choices. Whenever you choose not to physically participate in a specific challenge, you still remain actively involved and focused on the activity.

Our Team

Our instructors are certified in first aid and CPR and demonstrate high skill levels in both safety and facilitation. They complement extensive ongoing professional training with competence, caring and leadership qualities. We are proud to have them on staff and will furnish individual training documentation upon request.

Associates

In the spirit of teamwork we maintain associations with professional business trainers, consultants, and therapists who can further enhance your challenge course experience through their own specialized practices.

Ropes and Rafting

Rafting on the South ForkRafting can be combined with half-day, or full day Ropes Challenge Programs. For example, you may add a half-day of Rafting to any half-day Ropes Program. Ropes and river rafting make one of many great combinations. Spend your morning working together on the Ropes course, and then head for the river for an exciting afternoon. Rafting is not only a fun way to experience the Mother Lode, it also is a team building experience as you work together with the guide and other rafters to get the raft down the river.

For the various Rafting options, please refer to the River Trips page.
