Should I tip my guides?
Many of our guests ask this question, wondering if gratuities are considered appropriate and in what amount. Therefore, if you feel your guide provided an exceptional experience for you a tip may be left with the head guide and will be evenly distributed among the group. Anything between 5% and 10% of your trip cost is a general tipping guideline.
Will I fall out of the raft?
Taking a small swim is always a possibility when whitewater rafting. Each guest will be equipped with a personal-flotation-device and we brief all of our clients on what to expect and how to behave in the event that someone does fall out of the raft.
Do I need to know how to swim?
No, however, you should be comfortable in and around water.
What if I fall off the ropes course?
For every high element on our challenge ropes course, you will be “on-belay”. This means you will be in a harness, connected to one of our highly experienced ropes course facilitators. In the event of a fall, your facilitator will be able to “catch” you by maintaining tension on your rope.
What equipment does Mother Lode provide?
We include all of the top-quality equipment you will need for your trip. For whitewater rafting trips, we provide your helmet, paddle, personal flotation device and splash jackets/wetsuits if necessary. For challenge ropes course activities, we provide your harness and helmet.
What if I need to cancel my trip?
If you must cancel your trip, all but a $25/person cancellation fee will be refunded provided we have written notice at least 30 days prior to your trip. Cancellations received less than 30 days prior to the trip date are not eligible for refunds, however, you may find another qualified person to take your place without penalty.
